Therapeutic Pilates Mat

Tuesday and Thursday @ 10 a.m.

In person or virtual

After incorporating Pilates in a physical therapy setting for 15 years, Viraj designed a group Pilates program that combines the teachings of Joseph Pilates and the science of Physical Therapy. Viraj aims to target the deeper core muscles with the precision and flow of a traditional Pilates mat class. This class is rehabilitative with Pilates postures modified to maximize effective core activation and minimize compensatory motions.

Restorative Pilates Mat

Friday @ 10 a.m.

In person or virtual

This integrative Pilates class focuses on the fundamentals of the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) to restore muscular movement patterns that may have become inhibited due to injury, pain or chronic compensations over time. The class strives to improve diaphragm efficiency and activate core muscles while minimizing compensatory muscles that are needed in activities of daily living. This is a neuromuscular and neurosensory class which teaches the client how to use their body efficiently to maximize performance and minimize injury. The client will learn how to learn terms such as “hula’s”, “salsa,” “left abdominal wall”, “reach” in order to restore motion to the left and right side of the body.  The client will learn reference points to “sense” different muscles within the body.  Clients will leave with an understanding of how walking, running, squatting and lifting weights can be performed with a more efficiently working body.

Restorative Strength and Conditioning

Wednesday's @ 10 a.m.

In person or virtual

This is a restorative strength and conditioning class in which we perform squats, lunges, roman dead lifts, bulgarian split squats while taking into consideration asymmetries of the human body and precise positioning to properly activate your stabilizing muscles.  Exercises will help isolate muscles such as the gluteus maximus, hamstrings, triceps, serratus anterior and diaphragm. These are essential muscles that aid in restoring normal movement patterns within the body when walking, bending, squatting and reaching.  Learn how to perform these exercises taught by a physical therapist for an integrated and functional approach to building strength and preventing injury.

Restorative Pilates for Postpartum Moms

Currently booking Private and Semi Private classes

This class is for new moms and mom’s healing from a diastasis who are looking to improve deep core muscle activation to help in their healing process. We will focus on restoring malalignment at the ribcage, pelvis and hips that may have occurred during pregnancy and childbirth with a focus on breathwork.  Pilates exercises will be selected specifically for this client population with a focus on activating the diaphragm, transverse abdominis and pelvic floor muscles.  Exercises will minimize compensatory movement patterns that can occur after pregnancy and can set the client up for injury in the future. The class aims to restore confidence in women who are returning to activities of daily living such as walking, running, weightlifting, squatting, lifting and bending after giving birth.
